Hello, I am Tong
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) providing secure online counselling across Canada in English and Mandarin.
I work primarily with high-functioning women who appear capable and composed, yet feel internally exhausted by overthinking, self-pressure, and identity transitions. Many are balancing immigration, career shifts, parenting responsibilities, or relationship strain while quietly questioning themselves.
Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I help clients understand the patterns behind rumination, self-criticism, emotional restraint, and withdrawal in relationships. Together, we strengthen emotional regulation, rebuild self-trust, and restore a steadier sense of identity, so you can remain capable without constantly depleting yourself.
Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in international marketing and leadership. As a mother and immigrant who grew up in China, I understand the pressure of balancing achievement, family, and cultural expectations in a new country.
Therapy with me is thoughtful, structured, and steady, combining insight with practical tools to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
My Approach
My approach is steady and thoughtful, but also structured. Many high-functioning women are used to managing everything alone, slowing down can feel unfamiliar at first. In our work, we gently examine the patterns behind overthinking, self-criticism, and emotional restraint.
I integrate CBT, ACT, and DBT-informed strategies to help you understand your internal responses and build practical emotional regulation skills. Therapy is not only a place to talk — it is a space to gain clarity, strengthen self-trust, and develop tools you can carry into daily life and relationships.
