Couples Therapy

When you care about each other, but keep getting stuck in the same patterns.

Online Couples Therapy in Calgary & Across Alberta and Ontario

You may still love each other, but conversations turn into arguments. The same issues keep coming back. One of you may feel unheard while the other feels criticized, blamed, or unsure what to do differently.

Couples therapy can give you space to slow things down, understand what's happening between you, and begin finding different ways to communicate and reconnect.

What May Bring You to Couples Therapy

You don't need to wait until your relationship is falling apart to come to couples therapy. You may want support with:

  • Recurring arguments and unresolved conflict

  • Communication difficulties

  • Emotional distance or disconnection

  • Infidelity, betrayal, or rebuilding trust

  • Parenting disagreements

  • Family and in-law boundaries

  • Different expectations around roles and responsibilities

  • Cultural differences or changing roles after immigration

  • Major life transitions

  • Feeling stuck in the same relationship patterns

It's Often the Pattern Between You.

When couples are stuck, it's easy to focus on who is right, who started it, or who needs to change.

In therapy, we'll also pay attention to what happens between you—how one person's reaction affects the other, how conflict escalates or shuts down, and what each of you may be trying to communicate underneath the argument.

The goal isn't to decide who is the problem. It's to help you understand the pattern you're caught in and find different ways of responding to each other.

How I Work With Couples

My approach is collaborative, practical, and focused on helping both partners feel heard.

I draw from the Gottman Method and other relationship-focused approaches to help couples understand conflict patterns, strengthen communication, rebuild connection, and develop practical ways of responding differently.

I also make room for the larger context around your relationship—including family experiences, culture, immigration, parenting, and changing roles—when these are important to you.

Couples therapy isn't about creating a “perfect” relationship. It's about understanding what's happening between you and deciding together what you want your relationship to become.

You Don't Have to Figure It Out on Your Own
